Nigerian Communications Commission Hands Over Digital Industrial Park to Enugu State
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) officially transferred the Digital Industrial Park (DIP) and the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) to the Enugu State Government on 4 August 2026 at a ceremony in the Government House, Enugu. Attendees included Governor Dr Peter Mbah, NCC Executive Vice‑Chairman Dr Aminu Maida, Secretary to the Enugu State Government Prof Chidiebere Onyia, and NCC Secretary G.T. Mohammed.
In a related announcement, the NCC issued a Cyber Resilience Framework directing all licensed telecom operators to set dedicated budgetary provisions for cybersecurity. The framework requires formal governance structures, senior‑executive oversight, and funding for risk assessments, security technologies, staff training and incident‑response capabilities. Executive Commissioner Abraham Oshadami said, “Given the increasing digitalisation of services… the need for a robust, adaptive and inclusive cybersecurity framework has become more urgent.”
