Nigerian Governors Adeleke and Soludo Endorse President Tinubu for 2027
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke publicly backed President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, saying, “I am supporting President Tinubu because he has roots in Osun State, and because it is the turn of the South.” He also praised Tinubu for releasing funds to state governors to support development and urged Nigerians to give him more time to implement reforms.
Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo also endorsed Tinubu, declaring, “No more wasting of votes again. I’m endorsing President Tinubu for a second term.” Soludo appealed to the South‑East to unite behind the incumbent, noting that the region had previously acted as a reliable voting bloc for the opposition and should now align with mainstream national politics.
Both governors framed their support as a strategic move to prevent vote fragmentation and to promote collective national interests ahead of the 2027 general election.
