Nigerian security forces intensify raids on militants, kidnappers and illegal oil sites

The Nigerian Navy destroyed a suspected militants’ hideout in the Ine Ikoridung settlement of Cross River State, recovering weapons and documents and forcing the fighters to relocate.

The Army’s 4 Brigade rescued 14 passengers abducted on the Lagos‑Benin Expressway in Edo State, while separate operations under Operation HADIN KAI in Borno and Yobe arrested four suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP collaborators and intercepted 20 family members of JAS terrorists.

In a nationwide sweep, troops rescued 34 kidnapping victims, seized arms and detained an ISWAP informant, and conducted operations across Borno, Adamawa, Zamfara, Kogi, Plateau and other states.

The Navy’s Operation Delta Sentinel dismantled illegal refining infrastructure in Rivers State, seizing 87,000 litres of suspected illegally refined automotive gas oil in one raid and 61,000 litres in a second operation.

In Anambra, locally fabricated rocket launchers and machine guns recovered by the Agunechemba Security Squad were handed over to the Nigerian Army, highlighting expanding collaboration between state‑backed security outfits and the military.
