Nigerian security forces arrest terror suspect and defuse explosives

Security forces in North-West Nigeria have conducted several operations targeting terrorist networks in Kaduna and Zamfara states. In Kaduna, an informant linked to terror kingpin Yusuf Iliya Sani was arrested during a raid. The suspect reportedly facilitated an abduction for which a ransom was paid, though the victim was subsequently executed.

In Zamfara State, troops from Operation Fansan Yamma and Sector 2, working with Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal units, identified and neutralized improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted along the Magami–Dansadau road. These operations successfully cleared hazards for commuters and rural farmers in the Maru Local Government Area.

Additionally, military patrols in Zamfara resulted in the recovery of 73 rustled animals, including 14 camels, 19 cows, and 40 sheep, which were abandoned by fleeing terrorists. Authorities stated these actions are part of an ongoing effort to dismantle terrorist logistics and safeguard local communities.
