Nigerian security forces conduct raids and repel bandit ambush
Security forces in Nigeria have conducted several operations across Plateau, Kogi, and Benue states to combat crime and insecurity.
In Plateau State, troops from Operation Enduring Peace arrested 15 suspected drug peddlers during a raid on a hideout in the Congo Russia area of Jos North. The suspects are currently being profiled to determine their connections to wider criminal networks.
In Kogi State, the Nigerian Army's 12 Brigade arrested 14 suspected illegal miners in two separate operations. State Security Adviser Navy Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd) warned transport operators to monitor cargo strictly and cautioned traditional rulers against harboring illegal miners.
In Benue State, the Operation Zenda Joint Task Force repelled a bandit ambush along the Amaafu–Abaji Road. One suspected attacker was killed during the encounter, and security personnel recovered a locally fabricated firearm. No security members were injured during the patrol.
