Nigerian women's football: NWFL finalists and Edo Queens' continental campaign

C2E Sports Academy and Obosa Queens FA have advanced to the inaugural NWFL Nationwide 2026 final after securing promotion to the NWFL Championship. Both teams achieved 4-2 comeback victories in their respective semi-final matches at Enyimba Stadium in Aba, Nigeria.

C2E Sports Academy overcame Kwara United Queens, responding to an early deficit with goals from Chidinma Gideon and an own goal by Taiwo Omoniyi, before Agnes Ohuche secured the win. Obosa Queens FA also overcame Onimarg FC through a brace from Idowu Saidat and a late goal by Aliu Rofia.

Separately, NWFL champions Edo Queens have arrived in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, for the 2026 WAFU-B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers. Led by interim head coach Kennedy Boboye, the team is placed in Group B alongside ASEC Mimosas of Côte d’Ivoire, Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC of Ghana, and AS Garde Nationale of Niger. Edo Queens are scheduled to begin their campaign against AS Garde Nationale on August 24.
