Nigeria's APC chairmen convene in Lagos to strengthen grassroots ahead of 2027 elections
The All Progressives Congress (APC) State Chairmen’s Forum met in Lagos, bringing together chairmen from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The gathering was led by Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, who emphasized the need for party unity, internal democracy and stronger grassroots mobilisation as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
Ojelabi called the chairmen to act as custodians of the party’s structures, mentors for emerging leaders and bridges between the national leadership and millions of members. He pledged support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and praised Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo‑Olu for continued investments in infrastructure, education, health and technology. The forum reiterated its commitment to building an inclusive, disciplined and democratic APC ahead of future political contests.
