Nigeria's APC mobilises 4 million canvassers for President Tinubu's 2027 re‑election
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a nationwide grassroots mobilisation effort to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 general election. Governor of Imo State and Director‑General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Senator Hope Uzodimma, announced the deployment of more than 4.4 million canvassers—25 per polling unit across all 176,846 polling units in Nigeria. The plan, outlined at a national retreat in Abuja, aims to build a unified mobilisation network covering all six geopolitical zones, 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory and 8,809 wards.
Uzodimma defended the Tinubu administration’s reforms, citing a 3.89 % GDP growth in Q1 2026, infrastructure projects such as the Lagos‑Calabar Coastal Highway and Abuja‑Kaduna‑Zaria‑Kano Road, as well as health, education and energy initiatives. He urged RHA members to counter misinformation, explain policy benefits to citizens and deepen engagement with party structures. The retreat will produce a National Grassroots Mobilisation Blueprint, state‑by‑state action plans, a Standard Messaging Manual and an Election Readiness Checklist, all intended to solidify APC support ahead of the 2027 vote.
