Nigeria’s Education Minister Alausa Praised by Former Tanzanian President Kikwete
Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Maruf Olatunji Alausa, was commended by former Tanzanian President and Global Partnership for Education (GPE) board chair Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete during a meeting in Abuja. Kikwete highlighted the reforms as evidence of Nigeria’s commitment to improving learning outcomes and strengthening the education system, and noted Alausa’s seat on the GPE board as a sign of the country’s growing influence in global education.
The two officials also expressed optimism about the upcoming Global Education Summit in September, which will be co‑chaired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Organisers expect the summit to attract additional international funding and deepen partnerships aimed at expanding quality education worldwide.
