Nigeria's FAAN launches investigation into Osubi Airport security altercation
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has opened an investigation after a video of an altercation between an aviation security officer and a passenger went viral on social media. The incident, captured at Osubi Airport (Alfred Diete‑Spiff Airport) in Delta State, shows a female passenger allegedly being harassed during a disagreement with security personnel.
FAAN’s Managing Director Olubunmi Kuku directed the probe, and Director of Public Affairs Henry Agbebire said any breach of operational procedures or professional standards would be met with disciplinary action. The authority reaffirmed its commitment to safety, security and customer service across all Nigerian airports. The case has sparked public outrage and calls for improved passenger handling and independent review of airport security practices.
