Nigeria Falconets complete World Cup preparations with draw against South Korea
Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, concluded their final warm-up preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a 1-1 draw against South Korea in Poland.
Mary Mamudu scored for Nigeria in the 29th minute to give the team the lead, but South Korea equalized via a penalty in the 78th minute. This result follows a previous 1-0 victory against tournament hosts Poland, in which Mamudu also scored the decisive goal.
Head coach Moses Aduku stated that the squad is fully prepared and free of injury concerns heading into the tournament. The Falconets are placed in Group F and are scheduled to begin their campaign against Spain on September 7, followed by matches against China and New Caledonia.
