Nigeria's Governors Adeleke and Abiodun Back President Tinubu's Re‑Election

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, a member of the opposition PDP, announced his support for President Bola Tinubu’s second term, arguing that four years is insufficient to complete the administration’s reform agenda and citing an informal power‑rotation agreement that favours a southern president for eight years. Adeleke praised Tinubu’s federal allocations to states while warning that effective use of funds rests with state governments.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun pledged that his state will deliver 95% of its votes to Tinubu in the 2027 elections, commending the president’s economic reforms and the party’s peaceful primary process. He also outlined plans to strengthen security, expand infrastructure, and prioritize human‑capital development, while confirming the zoning of the deputy‑governor slot to the Ijebu area of Ogun East.
