Nigeria’s NDLEA Seizes Drugs, Ammunition in Nationwide Crackdown
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) carried out coordinated operations across Nigeria, intercepting 380 rounds of 7.62 mm military‑grade ammunition on the Abuja–Kaduna highway and arresting a suspect bound for Katsina State.
In parallel, the agency uncovered large drug consignments: 3 kg of ketamine and 199 g of MDMA hidden inside water‑purifier machines shipped from the Netherlands to Lagos, as well as 1,246 kg of “skunk” cannabis recovered from a couple’s residence in Kaduna. Additional seizures included 457 kg of cannabis in a Niger State warehouse and 22,000 tramadol pills, 100 ampoules of pentazocine and 200 g of bromazepam on a commercial vehicle in Enugu. Several suspects were detained, and the seized items were handed to relevant security agencies.
NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa praised the operations and urged continued momentum in the fight against drug trafficking and illegal arms.
