Nigeria's NDLEA promotes officers in Oyo and Edo states

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) held a ceremony in Oyo State, decorating 114 newly promoted officers, including one Commander of Narcotics, Obiajuru Okorie, seven Deputy Commanders, and 106 others. NDLEA Oyo State Commander Lawal Adetula urged the officers to rededicate themselves to the agency and the nation, praising Chairman retired Brig‑Gen Buba Marwa for timely promotions.

In Edo State, the NDLEA decorated 73 officers and announced the arrest of 49 suspected drug traffickers during July operations. State Commander Dr Mitchell Ofoyeju reported the seizure of 2,596.29 kg of assorted illicit drugs, the discovery of three drug warehouses, and the destruction of a 0.64‑hectare cannabis plantation, highlighting a growing involvement of women in trafficking.
