Nigeria's Noella and Almajiri-to-Tech Foundations Boost Youth Skills
The Noella Foundation, co‑founded by Layal Tinubu, hosted the Life After School Summit in Lagos on 17 July 2026. The event brought together 500 final‑year university students, business leaders and policymakers for mentorship, career guidance and professional‑headshot sessions. Tinubu said, “Every year, Nigeria produces hundreds of thousands of graduates who are intelligent, ambitious and full of potential. Yet, many quickly discover that academic excellence alone is no longer enough.”
In Abuja, the Almajiri‑to‑Tech Foundation celebrated the graduation of 21 pioneer trainees who completed six months of ICT, entrepreneurship and moral training. Founder Tim Akano highlighted the program’s impact, stating, “A skill is a dignity no one can repossess… Nations are built by those who show up the next morning.” Graduates received hands‑on training in computer and mobile repair, drone assembly and other tech skills aimed at improving employment prospects for former out‑of‑school children.
