Nigeria's Operation HADIN KAI disrupts Boko Haram logistics, arrests kidnappers in Borno

The Joint Task Force (North East) under Operation HADIN KAI announced a series of successful counter‑terrorism actions in Nigeria's North‑East region. On 9 June 2026 troops in Borno State intervened when a group of terrorists approached the North East Theatre Training School at Buni Yadi, neutralising the threat, recovering two bodies and a motorcycle, and preventing an infiltration attempt.

In related operations, soldiers from the 25 Brigade Garrison and the 162 Amphibious Battalion, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force, detained multiple suspected logistics suppliers for Boko Haram/ISWAP, seizing wristwatches, chemicals, a radio and other items intended for militant use. A further arrest was made of a 23‑year‑old suspected of providing farm implements and mosquito nets to insurgents.

Separately, the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, conducted a raid in Magumeri Local Government Area, Borno State, where five suspected kidnappers were captured and two AK‑47 rifles, magazines and ammunition were recovered. Authorities said the suspects belong to a kidnapping syndicate that has terrorised local residents. Both operations are described as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist support networks and criminal groups and to restore peace and security in the region.
