Nigeria's Operation HADIN KAI neutralises IEDs and disrupts Boko Haram logistics
Between 16 and 19 June 2026, troops of Nigeria’s Operation HADIN KAI carried out a series of offensive actions in the North‑East theatre. On 16 June, the 135 Special Forces Battalion EOD team and a Quick Reaction Force patrolled the Biu‑Buratai road, where they "identified and professionally detonated five IED cylinders" without casualties. The next day, the 153 Task Force Battalion engaged insurgents on the Miyanti‑Ngoshe axis, driving off an estimated 60 motorcyclists and recovering ammunition, motorcycles, solar panels and other supplies. On 19 June, a checkpoint stop‑and‑search by the 27 Task Force Brigade arrested two suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics suppliers transporting fuel and relief goods. The operations were presented as a major blow to terrorist freedom of action and a safeguard for civilians, with authorities urging continued public intelligence sharing.
