Nigeria's PDP Board of Trustees Declares Crisis Over, Focuses on Rebuilding Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Board of Trustees (BoT) of Nigeria's Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced that the party has moved beyond a prolonged period of uncertainty caused by litigation and is now concentrating on rebuilding its structures. Chairman Senator Mao Ohuabunwa said the Federal High Court ruling on Friday aligns with an earlier Supreme Court judgment and that the BoT fully respects the decision and the rule of law.

He warned that anyone claiming to be the BoT chairman without authority will be treated as a criminal impersonator and face legal action. Ohuabunwa called on party leaders to embrace reconciliation, strengthen internal unity, and prepare for the 2027 general elections.
