Nigeria's President Tinubu swears in new National Population and Revenue Commissioners
President Bola Tinubu administered the oath of office to two new members of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission and six federal commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC) during a ceremony at the State House council chamber in Abuja. The swearing‑in preceded a Federal Executive Council meeting attended by Vice‑President Kashim Shettima, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the chief of staff, the head of the civil service and other ministers.
NPC Chairman Dr Aminu Yusuf addressed the newly inaugurated NPC commissioners, urging them to accelerate preparations for the next population census and to improve birth registration nationwide. The new commissioners represent the states of Sokoto, Kwara, Bauchi, Ekiti, Zamfara, Jigawa and Katsina, and the RMAFC appointees are Amina Ibrahim Gamawa (Bauchi) and Abdullahi Mukhtar (Kaduna). Earlier, Tinubu had written to the Senate seeking confirmation of management appointments for several regulatory bodies, including the NPC and the RMAFC.
