Nighttime highway closures on Italy's A1, A9 and A50 in Lombardy
From the night of 22 July through 25 July, Autostrade per l’Italia will carry out a series of night‑time maintenance operations on several major motorways in Lombardy. The works affect the A1 Milan‑Naples, the A50 Tangenziale Ovest and the A9 Lainate‑Como‑Chiasso, with lane and ramp closures operating between 21:00 and 05:00 each night.
Drivers are advised to follow the recommended detours. On the A50, traffic from Milan should exit at San Giuliano and use SP164 and SP412 to re‑enter at Val Tidone, while traffic from Bologna should exit at Binasco, follow SP40 and SP412, and also re‑enter at Val Tidone. The A9 closure between Lake Como and the A59 junction directs vehicles to exit at Lake Como and re‑join at Fino Mornasco. Heavy trucks on the A1 are required to remain on the Milan‑bound carriageway and exit at Casalpusterlengo due to a bridge restriction over the Po River. Real‑time updates are provided via radio, the Autostrade per l’Italia app, variable‑message signs and the company’s website.
