Nike announces new Kobe Bryant Protro sneaker releases

Nike has announced upcoming Protro releases for the Kobe Bryant signature line, featuring updated performance technology and classic colorways.

The Kobe 8 Protro "Mambacurial" is scheduled for release on September 19th at a price of $200. This version updates the original 2013 design by replacing Lunarlon foam with a modern React build. The colorway features a magenta and pink gradient upper with a bright green Swoosh and translucent outsole, inspired by Nike's Mercurial soccer cleat line.

Additionally, the Kobe AD Protro "Purple Stardust" was displayed at the Mamba Invitational in Los Angeles. Maintaining the aesthetic of its 2017 predecessor, the shoe features a purple textured upper with black accents. This model is expected to include updated Zoom Air cushioning and revised midsole foam, with a scheduled release in Fall 2026 for $155.
