Nike to release Kobe 8 Protro ‘Shanghai Fireworks’ globally

Nike is set to release the Kobe 8 Protro ‘Shanghai Fireworks’ on November 11, 2026, with a retail price of $200 USD. This release marks the global availability of a colorway that was originally launched in 2013 as a China-exclusive.

The design features a vibrant engineered mesh upper with Laser Orange, Cinnabar, and Safety Orange graphics intended to resemble fireworks. The aesthetic pays homage to Kobe Bryant’s historical connection with China and his preseason promotional tours in the region.

As a Protro model, the shoe includes updated performance technology, such as a drop-in foam midsole within a Phylon carrier and an exposed carbon fiber shank plate for enhanced support. The design is completed with a black Swoosh, Kobe’s signature sheath logo on the tongue, and a translucent outsole.
