Nike unveils 3D-printed Air Max Link via AirWorks program
Nike has introduced the Air Max Link, a new footwear model developed through its AirWorks additive manufacturing initiative. The design was created by Beijing-based designer Marc Su as part of a program that invites young designers to experiment with 3D-printing technology to decentralize industrial design.
The Air Max Link utilizes high-precision 3D printing to integrate curved synthetic components and dual air units. While the silhouette shares geometric similarities with the Air Max 1000, the design incorporates retro-futuristic elements inspired by Nike’s Alpha Project and classic support structures.
A limited “Family & Friends” release of the Air Max Link is expected ahead of Air Max Day 2027, though it is currently unclear if the model will receive a wider commercial release.
