Nikšić implements water restrictions due to poor hydrological conditions

Nikšić Waterworks has implemented water supply restrictions in Nikšić due to extremely unfavorable hydrological conditions. The measures are driven by high temperatures and a prolonged lack of precipitation, which has significantly reduced water inflow to sources.

Since September 2, water outages have been organized in two groups of settlements on an alternating eight-hour schedule. This means some areas may face up to 16 hours without water in a 24-hour period. The water utility stated that the duration of these restrictions remains unpredictable as it depends entirely on meteorological developments.

Authorities noted that the restrictions were introduced with the consent of the local government, with efforts made to ensure vital institutions, such as healthcare facilities, are prioritized. Residents are advised to prepare necessary water reserves at home to manage the outages.
