Nikol Pashinyan expresses concern over election results and appears with spouse

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has voiced concerns regarding the results of the October 25 elections. Despite his ruling Civil Contract party receiving significant support in various reports—with some figures reaching 70, 80, or even 90 percent—Pashinyan expressed unease about these high margins.

Political commentators suggest his concern stems from a desire to avoid the appearance of authoritarianism. Analysts note that in a healthy political landscape, it is uncommon for candidates to secure 80 to 90 percent of the vote, and such high percentages may indicate a lack of meaningful political opposition, which could hinder national development.

In separate personal news, Nikol Pashinyan was seen publicly with his wife, Anna Akopyan, for the first time in eight months. The couple attended an exhibition at the National Gallery of Armenia titled ‘We Will Not Tolerate,’ an initiative organized by Akopyan’s foundation to combat domestic violence. Their appearance together follows Akopyan’s announcement in February that she had separated from the Prime Minister.
