Nikola Tsolov secures third place at Formula 2 Belgian Grand Prix

Bulgarian driver Nikola Tsolov finished third in the main Formula 2 race at Spa‑Francorchamps on 19 July. He started fourth, attempted overtakes on Brazil’s Rafael Camara, was forced off the track and suffered front‑wing damage, but later benefited from a five‑second penalty applied to Alex Dun. The race featured multiple incidents, including a serious crash by Lawrence van Hopen that triggered a red‑flag and a safety‑car period, leading to a shortened 60‑minute race plus one lap.

Tsolov’s podium finish gave him additional points, extending his championship lead to 161 points, ahead of Gabriel Mini (134) and Camara (125). He had also taken fourth place in the sprint race earlier in the weekend, adding further points to his tally. The win for Camara and second place for Tasana Pol Intraphuvask were noted, but Tsolov’s result highlighted his consistency and resilience amidst a chaotic event.
