Nikola Tsolov completes F1 test at Imola to secure Super License
Bulgarian driver Nikola Tsolov has completed a significant milestone in his racing career by fulfilling the requirements for a Formula 1 Super License. During a Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) session at the Imola circuit, Tsolov drove the 2025 Racing Bulls VCARB 02, covering a total of 690 kilometers.
By completing the mandatory minimum of 300 kilometers, the 19-year-old Red Bull Junior Team driver has now met the procedural criteria to participate in official Formula 1 Free Practice 1 (FP1) sessions. Tsolov, who currently leads the Formula 2 championship, recorded a best lap time of 1:17.67 using soft tires during the test.
Racing Bulls Team Principal Alan Permane praised Tsolov’s performance, noting his quick adaptation to the car and his composure. The successful test places Tsolov in contention for potential FP1 appearances later this season, possibly as early as the upcoming Grand Prix events.
