Nikola Tsolov discusses F1 prospects and F2 championship lead

Formula 2 championship leader Nikola Tsolov is expressing confidence in his potential transition to Formula 1. The Red Bull junior driver recently completed a testing session with the Racing Bulls F1 team at Imola, covering 690 kilometres. Tsolov stated that he feels prepared for the step up to the top tier of motorsport, noting that his recent simulator sessions and testing experience have made him feel at home behind the wheel.

While Tsolov is eyeing a possible F1 seat as early as 2027, he maintains that his primary focus remains on securing the Formula 2 title. He is currently leading the championship and intends to approach the remainder of the season race by race.

As the championship moves to a new street circuit in Madrid, Tsolov is preparing to defend his lead. He noted that the high-grip asphalt and proximity to the walls on the new track offer an adrenaline-filled challenge for the drivers.
