Nikola Tsolov drops from second to fourth after post‑race penalty in Barcelona F2

Bulgarian driver Nikola Tsolov finished second in the Formula 2 Feature race at the Barcelona circuit but was handed a five‑second post‑race penalty for overtaking with all four wheels off the track. The penalty demoted him to fourth place, costing him a podium finish.

Despite the setback, Tsolov remains second in the championship standings, six points behind leader Gabriel Mini, who benefited from the penalty and moved up to third in the race. Earlier in the weekend, Tsolov had taken third in the sprint race and started the Feature race from fifth on the grid after a strong alternative strategy.

The Barcelona round was the fifth event of the 2026 Formula 2 season, marking the series' second European venue and the first of two races held in Spain this year.
