Croatia coach Dalic hails Nikola Vlasic after Ghana win at 2026 World Cup
Croatia national team manager Zlatko Dalic praised Torino midfielder Nikola Vlasic following the team's 2‑1 victory over Ghana, which secured Croatia's place in the knockout stage of the 2026 World Cup. Dalic said Vlasic arrived “well prepared”, highlighted his work rate, goal and overall influence, and called him a key figure for the side.
Ahead of the round‑of‑16 clash with Portugal, Dalic confirmed that Croatia will retain the same starting eleven that beat Ghana, leaving Joško Gvardiol on the bench. He also noted that only Luka Modrić matches Cristiano Ronaldo’s quality in the Croatian squad. Former player Elvis Scoria added analysis of the Ghana match, emphasizing Vlasic’s importance and urging the continued use of Petar Sučić against Portugal.
