Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides has declared his readiness to resume negotiations regarding the Cyprus dispute, stating he is prepared to sit at the negotiating table ‘even tomorrow’. Speaking during various commemorative events, including the 46th Morphou Memory Days and a memorial for EOKA hero Dimitris Charalambous, Christodoulides emphasized that the Greek Cypriot side is committed to achieving a functional and sustainable solution.

The President noted that the administration has submitted proposals to the United Nations addressing methodology and confidence-building measures. He indicated that these proposals aim to break the current deadlock and create the necessary conditions for renewed dialogue. Christodoulides also mentioned an upcoming meeting with the Turkish Cypriot leader scheduled for next week.

In a separate engagement, the Mayor of Kalavryta, Thanasis Papadopoulos, met with the President in Cyprus. The Mayor, representing a municipality twinned with Morphou, expressed solidarity in the struggle for reunification and the upholding of international law.
