Nikos Christodoulides faces criticism over Cyprus negotiation strategy

Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides is facing criticism regarding his approach to the Cyprus dispute. Reports suggest he continues a strategy of verbal commitment without concrete action, which has failed to advance reunification negotiations or the proposed 5+1 conference. While Christodoulides maintains that he is ready to do everything within UN parameters to restart talks, critics point out a lack of willingness to engage in regular meetings with Northern Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman.

Separately, Christodoulides has pledged to intensify efforts to enforce national and international arrest warrants related to the killings of Tasos Isaac and Solomos Solomou. Drawing parallels to recent arrests made regarding the use and sale of former Greek Cypriot properties in the north, he stated, "When we want something done, we have shown that it can be done," asserting that pursuing justice in these cases is a matter of principle and honor.
