Giorgos Mazonakis: The Voice prepares tribute episode

Following the death of singer Giorgos Mazonakis, the Greek talent show ‘The Voice’ is preparing a special tribute episode to honor his musical legacy. Scheduled to air on Saturday, October 3, the episode will feature an empty red coach chair as a symbol of his absence. The program will include performances by fellow coaches Christos Mastoras, Elena Paparizou, and Panos Mouzourakis, alongside various artists such as Paola, Pitsa Papadopoulou, and Stelios Dionysiou.

Journalist Tasos Tryfonos has shared details regarding Mazonakis’ final television interview, which took place on July 7 at his home. Tryfonos noted that the singer insisted on conducting the interview immediately rather than waiting for the new season, stating he wanted to ‘speak about everything’ and share ‘his own truth.’ Tryfonos described Mazonakis as being in good spirits during the meeting, despite an underlying need to express his inner thoughts.

Singer Nikos Oikonomopoulos also paid tribute to Mazonakis during a recent concert at Petra Theater. Oikonomopoulos addressed the public regarding the circumstances of the singer's death, urging people to refrain from speculation and leave the matter to the judicial authorities. He dedicated songs to his late colleague, emphasizing that Mazonakis’ music would remain his lasting legacy.
