Nilüfer International Jazz School begins classes in Bursa

The Nilüfer International Jazz School (NUCO) has officially commenced its educational program in Bursa, Turkey. Organized by the Nilüfer Municipality, the free program aims to strengthen the city’s cultural and artistic identity by bringing together musicians interested in jazz.

The curriculum, managed by Professor Dr. Sezen Özeke from Bursa Uludağ University, runs from September to June and consists of four main phases. The initial phase, titled ‘Jazz Lab,’ involves ensemble and preparatory groups focusing on repertoire development, theory, improvisation, and jam sessions. A subsequent phase, ‘NUCO International Week,’ will involve partnerships with educational institutions in Italy, Germany, and Poland to provide masterclasses with renowned jazz musicians.

Nilüfer Mayor Shadi Özdemir attended the opening session at the Dr. Hüseyin Parkan Sanlıkol Musical Instrument Museum, emphasizing the municipality's commitment to investing in youth through culture and the arts.
