Nilüfer Jazz Festival ends with Emel Mathlouthi concert in Balat Atatürk Forest

The 9th International Nilüfer Jazz Festival, organized by the Nilüfer Municipality in Bursa, Turkey, ran from 24 to 28 June across venues including Üç Fidan Park, 23 Nisan Park and the Balat Atatürk Forest. The week showcased a mix of Turkish and international jazz artists.

On the fourth day, folk legend Musa Eroğlu performed with the Yediveren Orchestra, blending Turkish folk songs such as “Telli Turnam”, “Halil İbrahim”, “Mihriban” and “Yolun Sonu Görünüyor” with jazz arrangements. Mayor Şadi Özdemir thanked the performers and presented flowers after the concert.

The festival concluded on 28 June with a free final concert by Tunisian singer‑songwriter Emel Mathlouthi in the Balat Atatürk Forest. Mathlouthi sang well‑known tracks including “Holm”, “Kelmti Horra” and “Naci en Palestina”, emphasizing themes of freedom, peace and solidarity with the Palestinian people. The mayor highlighted the performance’s symbolic support for oppressed peoples.
