Nine kittens found abandoned in a box near Wiehl
Nine young kittens were discovered abandoned in a taped cardboard box at the edge of a forest near Wiehl-Morkepütz, Germany. The kittens, consisting of three females and six males, were found in a box that only allowed limited airflow through side handles.
The Koppelweide animal shelter, which took in the animals, expressed shock over the incident. The kittens, estimated to be approximately twelve weeks old, are currently being cared for at a foster home. They will undergo a 14-day quarantine period followed by vaccinations before they are available for adoption. Authorities are seeking information regarding any suspicious activity in the area around the time the box was found.
