Vietnam infrastructure projects face varying progress and supply challenges

Various infrastructure and construction projects across Vietnam are facing different stages of progress, ranging from rapid acceleration to significant delays.

In Lào Cai, a shortage of construction stone is creating bottlenecks for major transport and industrial projects. While the province has significant potential, current supply capacity is insufficient to meet the high demand for upcoming highway and railway expansions.

In Ho Chi Minh City, a 10,000 billion VND flood prevention project is nearing completion, with 95% of the work finished. However, other urban projects face issues, such as a completed 600 billion VND highway intersection in Bình Chánh that remains unused due to pending inspections.

Other regional developments include the acceleration of a 300 billion VND bridge and road project in Cà Mau, and urban beautification efforts in Huế involving a 100 billion VND riverside walkway and embankment project. Conversely, some projects are struggling; a road connecting Quốc lộ 46 to Cửa Làng Port has remained unfinished since 2022 due to land compensation and funding issues.

In healthcare infrastructure, authorities in Ninh Bình are working to resolve leaks and moisture issues at Nam Định General Hospital, which had previously required residents to use buckets to catch rainwater.
