Ninh Binh police warn of land certificate integration scams

Police in Ninh Binh province have issued a warning regarding a new scam targeting citizens with land use right certificates (red books). Fraudsters are impersonating police officers, land registry officials, or local government representatives to offer assistance with integrating land certificates into the VNeID application.

Scammers use various tactics, including fake names, images, and documents, to gain trust. They may contact victims via phone calls or messages claiming to help with land data updates, synchronization of land use certificates, or verification of land ownership information. Once victims follow their instructions, criminals can steal personal information, bank account details, OTP codes, or take remote control of devices to embezzle funds.

Authorities advise citizens not to provide passwords, OTPs, or PINs to anyone claiming to be an official. They are also urged not to click on suspicious links, scan unknown QR codes, install unverified applications, or allow strangers to remotely control their phones or share screens. For all administrative procedures, citizens should contact competent state agencies directly through official channels.
