Nintendo pledges 50 million yen aid and free repairs for Kumamoto earthquake victims

A magnitude‑7.1 earthquake struck Japan’s Kumamoto region last week, causing extensive human and material damage. Nintendo announced that it will repair consoles and accessories free of charge for residents in the disaster‑affected areas until 1 February 2027. In addition, the company will donate 50 million yen to the Japanese Red Cross to support relief efforts. The official statement expressed sympathy for those affected and outlined the assistance program.

The donation and repair offer are part of Nintendo’s response to the Kumamoto earthquake, aiming to help victims recover more quickly.
