Nintendo releases Pokémon Pokopia 'Cuenca Coralina' DLC with 50 new Pokémon

Nintendo and Omega Force have launched the first paid expansion for the Switch life‑simulation game Pokémon Pokopia. The "Cuenca Coralina" DLC, released worldwide on 5 August 2026, adds an underwater neighbourhood populated by water‑type Pokémon and introduces 50 previously unseen species such as Shellder, Horsea, Staryu, Totodile, Popplio, Mareanie and Wiglett.

The expansion is accompanied by a free 2.0.0 update that brings a new diving mechanic, allowing players to submerge Ditto and explore the main map’s oceans without purchasing the DLC. The update also adds underwater building objects and various quality‑of‑life improvements.

Access to the new area requires completing the "Greater Environment" quest in Bay Borrasca, learning the Surf move from Lapras, and acquiring the Dive move from Manaphy. Once these conditions are met, a Popplio appears to guide players into the coral basin, where they can rebuild the submerged neighbourhood and collect new cosmetics, furniture sets and story documents.
