Nintendo Switch 2 adopts AMD FSR Frame Generation for performance boosts

The Nintendo Switch 2 is expanding its technical capabilities through the implementation of AMD FSR Frame Generation. This technology uses machine learning algorithms to interpolate pixel motion between source images, creating artificial intermediate frames to boost frame rates. While intended to help titles like Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen and Shift Up’s Stellar Blade reach a 60fps target, using the technology in this manner may deviate from AMD’s official recommendations, potentially increasing risks of input latency and ghosting.

In software news, Hazelight Studios and Electronic Arts have released the first trailer for It Takes Two on the Nintendo Switch 2. The game is scheduled for release on October 15, 2026, and will include a free upgrade for existing Nintendo Switch owners. The title will support online cross-play across multiple platforms, including PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, and will allow original Switch users to play with Switch 2 players via GameShare or version downgrades.
