Nintendo Switch 2 RPG titles showcased at Gamescom

New software updates and demonstrations for the Nintendo Switch 2 were highlighted at Gamescom 26, focusing on acclaimed RPG titles.

Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has received a dedicated update for the Nintendo Switch 2. This version aims to utilize the new hardware to resolve previous technical limitations, offering improved visual presentation and performance while maintaining the core tactical combat and narrative elements of the original title.

Additionally, SEGA showcased a demonstration of Metaphor: ReFantazio, developed by Studio Zero, for the Nintendo Switch 2. While the game retains its turn-based combat, exploration, and social interaction mechanics, the demonstration indicated that the visual fidelity, including textures and color depth, appears slightly lower than the original 2024 release on other platforms due to the nature of the adaptation.
