Nio posts 71% year‑on‑year jump in July vehicle deliveries

Chinese electric‑vehicle maker Nio delivered 35,934 vehicles in July 2026, a 71% increase compared with the same month a year earlier. The deliveries comprised 20,008 units of the Nio brand, 10,155 from the Onvo brand and 5,771 from the Firefly brand, bringing year‑to‑date deliveries to 227,057, up 68% from July 2025, and reaching a cumulative 1.2 million vehicles since the company began production.

The main Nio brand generated about 8.7 billion yuan in revenue in July, with an average transaction price of 434,600 yuan ($64,010). The five‑seat version of the premium ES8 SUV was launched on July 9 and began deliveries on July 10, accounting for 10,286 units (51.4% of Nio‑brand deliveries). The ES9 also contributed strongly, topping 10,000 deliveries within a month of its launch. Founder, chairman and CEO William Li said raw‑material price pressure added roughly 20,000 yuan to the cost of each ES8, prompting the company to hedge with suppliers.

Nio, which was placed on the U.S. Department of Defense’s list of Chinese military‑linked companies in June, said it will engage the department over the designation. The news lifted Nio’s shares 2.9% to US$4.94.
