Nio reaches 130,000 third‑gen ES8 deliveries as Shanghai sales surge

Nio announced that its 130,000th third‑generation ES8 was delivered on July 22, 2026 in Jinhua, Zhejiang. The latest batch of 10,000 units was shipped in just one month, signalling a return to a delivery pace of around 10,000 vehicles per month. The milestone came soon after the launch of a lower‑priced five‑seat ES8 version on July 9, which helped revive momentum.

In Shanghai, Nio sold 20,736 vehicles in the first half of 2026, accounting for roughly 11% of its total China retail sales. Together with Onvo and the compact Firefly brand, the three marques delivered more than 150,000 vehicles in the city, capturing over 60% of the large‑SUV market. The ES8 has been Shanghai’s best‑selling large SUV for eight consecutive months. Firefly’s deliveries surged 272% year‑on‑year, topping 70,000 cumulative units and representing more than 15% of Nio’s overall deliveries. The strong Shanghai performance lifted Nio’s U.S.-listed shares by about 1% in pre‑market trading.
