Nio’s Firefly brand unveils ‘Halo’ design edition in China ahead of 70,000‑delivery milestone

Nio’s entry‑level brand Firefly will present a new “Halo” version of its sole sub‑compact hatchback on 20 July at 19:00 local time in Shanghai’s Greenhouse Garden. The edition, named after the model’s three overlapping ring headlights, features a grey‑green body finish that shifts with light, black multi‑spoke wheels, a softly glowing logo and interior upgrades such as a 13.2‑inch 2.5K infotainment screen, 6‑inch instrument panel and new driver‑assist features. Power is boosted to 120 kW, delivering a range of about 420 km, while pricing is kept between 119,800 and 125,800 yuan, with a battery‑as‑a‑service (BaaS) option available.

The launch follows Firefly’s announcement that it delivered its 70,000th vehicle on 16 July, marking rapid growth since deliveries began in April 2025. The brand, led by president Daniel Jin and supported by Nio senior VP of design Kris Tomasson, aims to reach 100,000 deliveries by the end of 2026. Firefly positions the new “Halo” series as a design‑first statement, the first product line built around aesthetics rather than additional model variants.
