Nirjala Ekadashi 2026 Fast Observed on June 25

Nirjala Ekadashi, the most sacred Ekadashi, will be observed on Thursday, June 25 2026. Devotees will observe a strict waterless fast from the start of the Ekadashi tithi at 6:12 pm on June 24 until 8:09 pm on June 25, according to Drik Panchang. The fast, called “Nirjala,” prohibits food and water until the Parana period on June 26 between 5:25 am and 8:13 am.

Hindu scriptures state that observing this single fast grants the same spiritual merit as keeping all twenty‑four Ekadashis in a year. Worship of Lord Vishnu includes the mantra “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya,” special prayers, aarti and charitable donations of water, food and clothing. The day is also marked by auspicious yogas such as Shiva Yoga and Siddhi Yoga, considered favorable for prayers and rituals.
