Nirmala Sitharaman arrives in US for G20 finance ministers meeting

Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has arrived in South Carolina to participate in a two-day G20 meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors in Asheville, North Carolina. She is leading the Indian delegation and was welcomed at the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport by India's Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra.

The summit aims to address critical global issues, including economic growth, global economic imbalances, government debt challenges, and the impacts of the conflict in Iran.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh also arrived in Asheville for the proceedings. As the host of the G20 financial track, the United States has identified economic growth as a primary priority. The meeting includes representatives from 19 member countries, the European Union, the African Union, and various international financial institutions.
