Nirmeen Noufl pleads guilty to manslaughter in husband's death

Nirmeen Noufl, 56, has avoided a murder conviction by pleading guilty to manslaughter in the alternative. The plea was accepted by prosecutors in the Supreme Court, meaning Noufl will not face a murder trial.

Noufl was charged in October 2024 with the murder of her husband, Mamdouh Noufl, 62, at their Greenacre home around May 3, 2023. Mamdouh had been reported missing by friends in July 2025.

Police investigations alleged that Noufl dismembered her husband's body and disposed of the remains in plastic bags within various residential and industrial rubbish bins across south-west Sydney. Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty previously characterized the case as a “domestic violence murder”. Noufl is expected to be sentenced for manslaughter later this year.
