Nissan announces new Patrol SUV launch and Tekton compact model
Nissan is expanding its SUV lineup with the introduction of two significant models. The new generation Nissan Patrol, a flagship off-road SUV, is scheduled for release in Japan in May 2027. This model, which previously carried the ‘Safari’ name in Japan, features a 3.8L V8 or a 3.5L V6 twin-turbo engine. A high-performance NISMO variant will also be available, offering up to 502ps. The interior will include Google built-in technology and large 14.3-inch displays.
Additionally, Nissan has unveiled the Tekton, a new compact C-segment SUV, during a world premiere in India. Designed as a global strategic model, the Tekton draws design inspiration from the flagship Patrol. It offers two powertrain options: a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine and a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine delivering up to 280Nm of torque. While the Tekton is developed and produced in India, its official availability in the Japanese market has not yet been announced.
