Nissan launches low‑cost Tekton SUV for India and export markets

Nissan officially unveiled the Tekton, a compact SUV built at its Chennai plant in India. The model draws design cues from the Nissan Patrol and is positioned as an affordable entry in the competitive Indian compact‑SUV segment. Prices start at about €11,500 (10.49 lakhs rupees) for the base 1.0‑litre three‑cylinder engine with a six‑speed manual, and rise to roughly €20,400 (18.59 lakhs rupees) for the top‑spec 1.3‑litre four‑cylinder engine paired with a six‑speed dual‑clutch automatic.

The Tekton offers a dual‑screen cockpit (10.25‑inch digital instrument cluster and 10.1‑inch infotainment), Level‑2 ADAS safety features, six airbags and a five‑star Bharat NCAP rating. It is equipped with turbocharged engines delivering 100 hp (166 Nm) or 163 hp (280 Nm) and targets both the Indian market and export to more than 50 countries across the Middle East and Africa, with first deliveries slated for July 2026.
